Warehouse Tech 2 (Specialist)
Warehouse Specialists perform a variety of warehousing duties including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping products which require an understanding of the organization’s warehouse layout and relevant policies and procedures. They will quickly grasp the basics of warehouse policies and then apply their experience to the specifics of our warehouse, direct those abilities towards special projects, work with little supervision, and report their findings and progress to their supervisor, manager, and other department managers.
Duties
- Verifies the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, ASNs, packing slips, manifests, storage receipts, or other records.
- Checks for and deals with damaged goods
- Ensures that goods are appropriately identified for routing to prescribed storage locations
- Stores, stocks, or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods
- Processes pick tickets utilizing handhelds
- Helps maintain correctly stocked and shelved goods throughout 50,000 square feet of warehouse
- Stores and maintains office files to the upper warehouse location
- Coordinates shipping methods utilizing UPS, FedEx, or USPS
- Works alone or directs a small team to assign specific tasks
- Follows up on progress reports with supervisor, warehouse manager, or other department managers
- Helps develop and innovate processes and procedures for new tasks and projects
- Helps instruct lower-level warehouse employees
- Leads by example
- Follows all safety protocols
- Adheres to all company policies
Required Skills
- Previous warehouse experience (1+ years)
- Ability to safely and effectively utilize a pallet jack
- Basic computer competency
- Basic Word Processor (Word, OpenOffice, and GoogleDocs) and Excel experience
- Ability to utilize handheld computer
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
Preferred Skills
- Ability/certification to operate a Wave Picker
- Ability/certification to operate an Order Picker
- Ability/certification to operate a Forklift
- 2+ years of warehouse experience
- Prior UPS ConnectShip Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or College degree
- Strong English communication skills (both written and oral)
- Bilingual fluency (English and Spanish)
This is a time-flexible, mid-level position.
Pay: 8.75+ DOE
